Babana Aboriginal builds and empowers local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in the inner-city community of Redfern in Sydney. Babana offers primary health, mental health and suicide prevention programs, local men's groups and mentoring.

Bridging the Gap – Men’s Resource Centre

The Men's Resource Centre is a safe space where men can gather and talk, receive counselling, and attend programs. Open from Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 3pm, the centre offers:

Brothers4Brothers creates a safe and judgment-free space where men can communicate about their mental health struggles so they can begin the healing journey and live up to their full potential. Too many men suffer in silence with mental health ailments and addiction. Every man has the ability to live up to his full potential – sometimes just needing support from other men who have faced similar struggles. Brothers4Brothers helps men communicate their struggles and take the steps they need to heal so they can become the men that they want to be and the men their families deserve.

They offer one-on-one mentoring, personal training and online mentoring.

Change Happens Psychotherapy and Consultancy

Clinical therapist who works with men individually, in same sex couples and in groups. Provides a space where men who are single, in a relationship, who identify as straight, gay and bisexual pan, trans or non-binary can be open to talk through their issues without judgment or embarrassment.

Dads at Dalwood

The program is designed to maximise engagement and participation for fathers. A male family counsellor provides dedicated support for dads by ensuring father friendly access, a dad’s e-mail group, individual counselling for dads, dads playgroups, evening discussion groups, activity afternoons for children and dads. ​

Gotcha 4 Life Foundation

Gotcha4Life is dedicated to building a mentally fit future through delivering preventative mental fitness campaigns, workshops, programs and resources in schools, sports clubs, workplaces and communities Australia-wide. Mental fitness programs for local communities include presentations, workshops, training, and one-on-one peer support. The Tomorrow Man workshop trains young men how to walk their own path, talk with gravity and engage actively, with purpose, in all areas of their lives.

Health in Gear is a program developed by the OzHelp Foundation that focuses on supporting the health and wellbeing of transport and logistics workers on the job and at home. Healthier Illawarra Men is a nonprofit organisation passionate about promoting men's health in the Illawarra region. They raise awareness of:

Illawarra-Shoalhaven Men’s Homelessness Support Service

Locations: Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven, Nowra

This service provides integrated support to single men over 25 years of age who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and links them to a range of services. It focuses on providing early intervention responses through outreach to men in the community, as well as providing crisis and transitional accommodation, and intensive responses for men with complex needs, including men who are sleeping rough. Men are assisted to access and maintain stable accommodation.

Mantle Health

Menstuff

Offers counselling, trauma-informed psychotherapy, supervision, workshops and coaching services relating to men, young men, and those in their lives, to achieve their greatest potential. Mentoring Men

Mentoring Men provides free long-term one-to-one life mentoring for men suffering from mental health challenges like loneliness, anxiety and depression. With the early intervention of a mentor, these challenges can be prevented from escalating into full blown mental health crises. A mentor will listen to problems and give support when the going gets tough.

MENtors for Men

Mentors for Men connect with men in the community and establish peer support, mentoring networks and services to improve men’s physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. Through training, mentors are able to address men’s behaviour, risk-taking, and health through self-awareness.

Northern Beaches CARES

Northern Beaches CARES is a new community-based suicide prevention network. CARES stands for ‘Care and Respond, Ending Suicide.’, which encompasses our vision of eliminating suicide on the Northern Beaches. There are Anxiety Support Group meetings as well as the Men's Anxiety Support Group run by WayAhead on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

OM:NI is for men aged over 50. OM:NI groups create safe male-only sharing experience to help members reduce loneliness, address issues that affect their lives, and enhance their health, wellbeing and lifestyle in retirement.

Rural Outreach Counselling (ROC)

A community-minded mental health charity working out of the Riverina region. With ROC MateKeeper Champions, qualified counsellors and coordinators circulate within the community with the aim of reducing the impact of depression and anxiety in rural families and communities throughout regional Australia.

SAMSN provides a peer support line and other support for male survivors of child sexual abuse and their families. Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue is one of Australia's most well known mental health support organisations. Beyond Blue offers online peer support community, free online confidential counselling with a counsellor on 1300 22 4636, as well as a wide range of online resources. The New Access Mental Health Coaching Program is for anyone feeling overwhelmed or stressed by everyday issues. A guided 6-session program, it’s designed to give you the skills to manage everyday life stresses such as work, study, relationships, health or loneliness.   • Althea Wellness Centre (21 Bowes St, Woden) is a specialist primary health clinic for individuals and their families impacted by current or past alcohol and other drug use, mental health and other complex health and wellbeing issues.
  • Arcadia House is a Therapeutic Community in North Canberra Hospital, Bruce
  • ‘Chat to PAT’ is a purpose-built mobile clinic that provides wrap around support to marginalised Canberrans.

Endeavour Clubhouse

Locations: Port Macquarie

A voluntary community-based program where participants are members not patients or clients. Clubhouse assists people with a lived experience of mental illness to:

Grandparents in Distress (A program of Parents Beyond Breakup)

'Grandparents in Distress’ is a national support group for grandparents experiencing separation from their grandchildren. Parents Beyond Breakup not only supports parents experiencing trauma through family breakdown and separation but also acknowledges the specific issue of grandparent-grandchild contact during custody battles commonly termed ‘parental alienation’ where one side of a child’s family is disadvantaged or removed by the other parent, a factor closely linked to stress, anxiety, depression, isolation and suicide in Australia. Every child deserves to have a relationship with both sides of their family.

They help people who are sleeping rough, young people leaving care, people with mental health issues, people living in unsafe conditions, older people, and people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex or Queer (LGBTIQ). Victims Services Psychology – counselling with approved Victims Services counsellors and psychologists at locations around Sydney, offering both telehealth and face-to-face consultations on a short-term basis for up to 22 hours (which can be further extended in exceptional circumstances, or if the client is a victim of child sexual assault or child abuse). MoWaNa Safe Space is a peer-led community-based service to support people who are experiencing emotional or suicidal distress. MoWaNa stands for Mona Vale, Warriewood and Narrabeen. Way Back Support

A call back support service for people who have attempted suicide or experienced a suicidal crisis. Provides crisis support, counseling, and peer support, including post-hospitalisation discharge support. People who have attempted suicide or experienced a suicidal crisis often experience severe distress in the days and weeks immediately afterwards, and they are at high risk of attempting again. The Way Back Support Service Coordinator contacts the person within one business day of receiving their referral and tailors a program for up to three months after discharge from hospital. This program is built on personal connection and integration with community services. Beyond Blue has handed The Way Back Support Service to governments around Australia as of July 2023 but each of the locations continue to be managed by community-based service providers, including local health districts, hospitals and primary health networks.

We Help Others (WHO) is a residential rehabilitation service that offers treatment and case coordination.
