Baptist Care offers a men's support group for men seeking to change their behaviour. Facing Up Men's Behaviour Change - a 20-week men's behaviour change support group for men who want to stop being abusive within their family relationships.

Domestic Violence Crisis Service

Locations: Canberra

Domestic and family violence happens to men too, including men in same-sex relationships. People who use violence against men include their children, wives or partners, ex-partners, parents and siblings. Men who are subjected to domestic and family violence are more likely to be impacted by psychological symptoms, stress, depression and alcoholism than men who do not experience violence.
  • 24/7 crisis intervention services to anyone who is experiencing, or has experienced, domestic and family violence. Services provided 365 days a year include: telephone support; attendance with police at domestic and family violence incidents; access to safe emergency accommodation; safety planning; and referrals to support services. Family Advocacy and Support Service

Illawarra-Shoalhaven Men’s Homelessness Support Service

Locations: Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven, Nowra

This service provides integrated support to single men over 25 years of age who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and links them to a range of services. It focuses on providing early intervention responses through outreach to men in the community, as well as providing crisis and transitional accommodation, and intensive responses for men with complex needs, including men who are sleeping rough. Men are assisted to access and maintain stable accommodation.

The men’s behaviour change program, MEND, is for men who want to stop hurting and frightening the people they love. This involves challenging traditional masculinities that are often based on concepts of status, power, strength, avoidance of emotional expression, ownership and control.

No to Violence works with men who use family violence, and the sector that supports them to change their abusive and violent behaviour.
  • The Men’s Referral Service is an anonymous and confidential telephone service for men. It provides a central point of contact for men who are wanting to stop their violent or abusive behaviour towards their family members, but are not sure how or where to go for advice. Family and friends are also able to access telephone counselling
  • Men’s Behaviour Change Program providers are available to take your calls, offer a service and link you with other agencies depending on your individual circumstances.

Relationships Australia – Safer Pathways for Men

Safer Pathways free program provides localised support and case coordination for men who have experienced recent domestic and family violence. Specialist staff provide telephone support services to men across Wagga Wagga, Giffith, Albury and the South Coast. Individuals are referred to this service by the NSW Police Force or Local Courts.

Crossroads Community Care

Programs assist people struggling with single or multiple abuse issues. These include Intergenerational abuse, Parent and elder abuse, Domestic violence, Sexual assault and Child abuse. Program provides information, support and therapy concerning abuser experiences as well as issues such as fear, emotional pain, self-esteem, self-care, communication, boundaries, new relationships, self-harm, eating disorders, substance abuse, conflict problems, personal identity, sexuality, among others. Support is available through counselling, groups and/or workshops.  Parenting counselling and play therapy for parents and their children is also available at Crossroads for children who have witnessed or experienced violence and abuse.

Dianella Cottage – Relapse Prevention Program

This is a non-residential day treatment service for individuals aged up to 24 years with Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) substance dependency related issues. Dianella Cottage applies a harm minimisation framework at all stages of addressing substance use. Services are offered via face-to-face or telehealth. It is specifically aimed at reducing the risk of relapse for individuals exiting rehabilitation treatment or recently released from a correctional service. It offers support for all levels of care, from low to high needs.

Taking Responsibility – Men’s Behaviour Change Program is for men looking to overcome a history of abusive behaviour towards their female partner – including violence, coercive control and verbal abuse – and who want to make positive changes in their lives and relationships. Logic Lounge Psychology

Victims Services Psychology – counselling with approved Victims Services counsellors and psychologists at locations around Sydney, offering both telehealth and face-to-face consultations on a short-term basis for up to 22 hours (which can be further extended in exceptional circumstances, or if the client is a victim of child sexual assault or child abuse). The counselling helps the client recover from the emotional trauma and the impacts that crime has had on them. This counselling support is free to the victim.

Love Bites is a respectful relationships program created by The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN). Love Bites Central Coast uses a partnership approach to coordinate the program on the Central Coast. NSW Health Sexual Assault Services

NSW Health Sexual Assault Services provide free and confidential medical and counselling support to anyone in NSW who has experienced sexual assault, and their non-offending supporters. Many services are co-located in regional hospitals.

Men’s Family Safety provides supports to men and young men in the Port Stephen’s LGA who have previously used or are currently using violence including domestic or family violence.

The Toolbox Talks – The Family Co

The Toolbox Talks aims to motivate men to challenge social norms that support violence against women and children and provide them with skills on how to respond if they see, hear or suspect violence.
